With eye-catching purple heads and a prickly body, this thistle is beautifully drawn by botanical artist, Kathy Pickles.

Kathy resides in the remote Orkney Islands off Scotland. Having studied history of art, Kathy's love of flowers and gardens helped her to develop her skills as a botanical artist, winning 5 gold medals for botanical painting from the RHS (1991-1996). Kathy has been painting for Dunoon for over 20 years
